That's for CVs. VMs should be tuned from the bottom up.

i believe it has vm carbs. unfortunately i dont have much time to work on my ride. but i believe it just needs to be cleaned after setting up for the winter. the carbs have been rebuilt last year in may and cleaned in october. i am going to give it a shot at cleaning them myself when i get back from Biloxi next week, after i replace the old studs that are stripped from my oil filter case. gotta love all this learning. hopefully i will get to ride. not to brag but riding season has already started down south. thanks again for all the info.

If its got the round cam covers on each side of the motor it's 8 valve design and it would have VM carbs.
Always lots to learn but the benefit is never having to pay some jackwad a bunch of money to screw it up worse. And once you get over the "fear" of screwing up your only ride, it's pretty therapeutic

So it's been a few months. At first to easy fix
The problem I used a hotter plug. So that i wasnt fouling out
          Too quickly
Recently I used carb cleaner and that
          Cleared up the problem.
