Something has got to be awry.
I'd be looking for hairline cracks in the tank that extend past the O ring gas tank to petcock seal, or perhaps around the petcock mounting screws.
It's important to note exactly where the gas is seeping from so you can
focus your efforts to attemp a fix.
I had a gas leak, it turned out to be the O ring under the selector lever.
I thought for sure it was the mating surface leaking.
