Gas filled crankcase, pluse use of 'motor oil'

Got a bike that needs repaired, failed petcock. It has had the the bottom end thoroughly rinsed with fuel, several times before thy guy brought it to me. And he has drained it and used conventional motor oil to refill it each time. My main concern is weather or not to clean the clutch discs with Brakleen or something. Discs are in good nic, but I'm replacing the clutch springs.

Kinda what I was thinking but since it's apart, I figured I'd throw it out for some more experienced feedback. Thanks!
