quick one! which diameter is the 1979 GS850's exhaust pipe? i want to order a new muffler on ebay but i'm not at home right now so i can't measure :-)

I have a 78 GS550 and the header pipe is 35mm I hope this at least gives you some clue
as I wouldn't think header pipes have chanced much. LOL -

it's a caf?racer now so i'm choppin' off the original exhaust and replacing it with a "shorty" muffler...
it's a universal one, with a diameter ranging from 38 to 45mm... might have to use some gentle persuasion to make it fit...
