new throttle tube

Reason I was asking about the throttle mod. was because I need to replace my throttle tube. So far all the parts places I looked at you have to order the grip and tube together, I have new grips and so only want the tube. Looked on ebay, lots of them but not sure any of them will fit my 80 850. Any ideas? thanks again, and in advance. terrylee

I got the Yamaha R1 2004 tube and grip, and just purchased the other grip as well it was only like 7 bucks, most places as you have found out sell the tube and grip as a package deal....

I stupidly forgot about getting the R1 throttle tube, and just bought an aftermarket tube online for cheap. (I wish I had remembered about the Yam tube before I bought it.)

This is what I got for my GS1000, you can order them on their own, without grips or glue.

The bars are 7/8 inch, the grip length is about 7 inches (you can measure yours).

I used a tube from a GSXR1300. It has about 1/16" over the stock tube and fits with no modification
