Noisy induction note

Hi all. On the 650GT I've just gotten running again, there's an alarmingly loud induction note when it's around 3.5k, and under load. Sounds a bit like the slides are 'bouncing' in the carbs.
I still have yet to sort out the carb balancing and the fuel/air mix (will be doing that tomorrow) - is that likely to solve it, or am I looking at an entirely different problem?

Hmmm what air filter are you using?
Induction sound... Do you mean "sucking"
Or sumat else?

I was using the stock airbox with a standard foam filter. Turns out the the noise wasn't induction - one of the exhaust downpipes had worked slightly loose. I've since sorted it, and balanced the carbs up now, so it runs sweet.
