Just a word of caution, when you use the brass sync adapters, do not over tighten them, they will snap like glass. I know, cuz I did. Luckily the piece in the sync port was loose and it screwed out very easy.

I just got through using my brand new never used mercury gauges that I have had for the last 10 years on my bike a month ago. They worked just fine. I believe it is 3/4s of an ounce they use. I got the bottle stashed already. As for the rubber flap, I just put some tape over it.

1lb mercury = .93 oz of mercury. There for, I must have used .6 to .7 oz of mercury because I know I had 1lb of mercury to start. So my estimate of 3/4 of a lb was a little over but not by much. I am sure different makers of manometers use different reservoir sizes.Comment
