Ports on 78 1000 carbs

    Ports on 78 1000 carbs


    The middle ones.One is for the petcock and the other 2 need to be connected IIRC.Know I seen it some place but need a little help.

    #3 goes to the vacuum port on the petcock. #2 and #4 are float bowl vents, they need to be open to outside air. Use a hose up and over the air box and open on the other end, or if running pods, just leave the hoses off.

    Nice clean looking carburetors.

      Definitely not running pods so over the air box they will go.Thank you for the compliment,it was a bit of work getting them back from the varnished immobile mess I got.

        no.1 and no.3 float bowls are in the wrong place mate. they need to be swapped so the drain screw is facing outwards
        1978 GS1085.

        Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!
