solvent tank vs carb dippingi just got a set of carbs off ebay for my 1981 gs450l. my old carbs had a few stripped bolt holes from the shop the previous owner had work on the bike. i found a set of stock carbs for 45.00 including shipping. i know most people dip their carbs, but what about using a solvent tank to clean them? which would work best? i only ask because i have a solvent tank at work and using it is free vs. buying carb dip.Last edited by Guest; 09-19-2012, 12:07 PM.Tags: None

Is the solvent safe for the metals and plastics that may be in your carbs? Carb dip is about 20 bucks. damaging your 45 dollar set and then buying another doesnt sound cost effective... pony up for the carb dip and avert any potential problems.
