I've got the carbs off my *new* GS850 for cleaning.
The pilot screw orifice on one carb has stripped threads and the screw won't
come out. The pilot jet on another is so boogered up the slot in the top is
completely destroyed. It looks as if one of the PO's tried to drill it out unsuccesfuly.
Oddly enough, the bike ran pretty well for the 30 miles it took to get home, accelerating to 70 mph with a flat spot around 4,000 rpm if I remember correctly.
The guy I bought it from gave me a couple of racks of carbs in various states of repair
so I'm trying to scavenge bodies for replacements.
Please look at the pic and tell me if *A* is a soft plug of some sort and will it make
a difference if it is missing as in *B*. I can't seem to find it in the fiche.
Thanks,
Rick
