    O-Ring size for GS450 carb?

    Hey folks,

I've been noticing my left side carb will leak a bit as the bike site overnight, and I've traced it back to a pinched O-ring on the bowl drain. It appears to have torn a bit, so it will need replaced.
Does anyone know the size of this O-ring offhand? I was hoping to stop by the hardware store this afternoon and pick up a fuel safe replacement.

And a big +1 to Z1 Enterprises and their petcocks!! Got mine yesterday and installed it. The bike will actually run with the valve in the ON position now!!

An 18.3mm ID x 1.66mm CS will fit there; on that O-ring you have some elbow room. There's no AS568 that I know of that will fit exactly, but it looks like you could get away with a -018. (Dash 18). Kind of too much material, but if it feels OK, you should be good.
and God said, "Let there be air compressors!"

      Thanks for the info!!
I did find the plug to not be snugged down as well as it could have been, so I cinched it down. This has cured the drips, but it's still wet to the touch after sitting overnight.

Just get a kit from Mr Barr who posted earlier at www.cycleorings.com, much easier that way.

Because he posted with a suggested size, I would suspect that he does not carry that particular o-ring.

Surprise! Actually, it's part of the kit.

OK, I will consider myself "corrected".

I would have thought that you would have mentioned that little detail (that it is included in the kit) when you gave him the sizes.
