Idle AND up to about 1/8 throttle where they start to actually transition onto the main circuits.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

You're not going to burn any valves at 1/8 throttle unless they are adjusted too tight.

The bike is stock standard, 11,400 miles on it and is running like a little ripper. Three of the carbs have the pilot screw for the idle exposed but one of them has some sort o fplug in the screw hole. Not the molten lead type that can be removed with a drill but a hard metal type plug so I presume that is truly factory set.
The next time I play with it I will start to adjust the idle screws and lean them out some, but I am very happy with the way the bike is running now, regards Neil

Glad to hear she's running Neil!

You should still be able to get that Yamalube carb cleaner somewhere though... it's available on the Yamaha online store and I was able to pick a bottle up from the local Team Moto dealer here at Enoggera too... sounds like it's not necessary now though
