    GS1100L Pilot Screw Questions

I have just removed a 4 into 1 exhaust and re installed the original 4 into 2.

The bike is completely stock. The jets are all stock too.

I have stripped and cleaned the carbies and set the float heights (accurately I believe). Have also vacuum balanced the butterflys.

    The bike is idling OK.

The problem I have is a I close the mixture screwsthe RPMS increase. They increase untill the scew is completely closed. I would expect it to go past the sweet spot and start to stumble a little before the screw is closed. This happens on all 4 carbies.

Does this mean my idle jet is too big. Its a 45 as listed in the manual.

Its the 1980 model with 16v engine.

Do you feel your airbox is nice and tight- did you replace the o-rings at carb boot/ head interface?

Edit; You probably don't have those o-rings! but are those clamps in good shape?
