    Airbox is sealed?
    1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

      yes and yes.

      I opened my air box last night and noticed that the filter wasnt seated correctly and air was bypassing the filter. I fixed it and took her for a quick ride. This seemed to have helped my midrange issue quite a bit. I pulled a plug after the ride and it was still pretty white. Mind you this was a short ride, it was getting cold out. Should I take it for a longer ride before I mess with it any further?

        Well you seem to know what you're doing, but I have to ask since I didn't see it, are they the right jet sizes? When I got my bike I was horrified to see someone had put in main jets that were many sizes too big.

          Yeah, I confirmed all of the jet sizes when I did a full carb clean.
