Choke plunger nut and boot differences - ('87 GS450)

I am rejetting my carbs and replacing all the gaskets and o-rings, but I've run into an issue with the choke plunger nuts. One side is plastic and broken (left carb on picture 1), and the other side is brass. The plastic nut also had an o-ring, while the brass one did not.

The parts fiche does not distinguish between the two, although the nuts and boots clearly have some physical differences.







Does anyone know which nut was standard on my carbs (1987 GS450L), plastic or brass (I'm assuming they didn't come like this from the factory)? I'm afraid of ordering the boots listed for '85-'87 (boot: 13682-31210 x 2, o-ring: 13278-47090 x 2) and getting the smaller, plastic-nut size. Also it appears the nuts are not available individually (Steve in this thread says it's part of an assembly called STARTER VALVE which I couldn't find anywhere), so I'll probably just try to buy a used one from a forum member.

For anyone who has this question in the future:

Brass choke plunger nut (small cap): 13418-44080
Choke plunger boot (small): 13682-31210
Choke plunger nut o-ring (between nut and carb body): 13278-47090

New parts on left, 'large style' on right (I don't know any of those part numbers):

i dont know why Suzuki used brass and/or plastic nuts, probably dependant on who was supplying them at the time the carbs were being assembled.
if the new brass nuts with the smaller boots fit ok then it will be wise to replace them as a complete unit. brass is stronger and less likely to break than the old plastic versions, and with a new o ring as well you can replace your old plunger nuts knowing they are good with no possibilities of air leaks.
