I have been looking for an exhaust for a while now and this one come up on craigslist. It isnt that far from me but I am hesitant. Does anyone have an oppinion about the system or know what year they are. I have an 82 gs1100g and cant tell if these are the right ones?

i cannot tell you if they will fit your bike but they do look like they are in good shape, no dents and just surface rust. they would be fine with a good clean up, or as you say with a coat of paint.1978 GS1085.

Those look like they are from a 1983 GS1100E. IIRC Eric 7981GS put a set of those on a 82 GS850G.

I'm forwarding this information from 7981GS because I think it relevant to the discussion.
You have to weld a '82-'83 kickstand to the G frame as the pipes run between
the frame rails rather than straddle them like the stock pipes.
Unbolt the stock kick-stand.
