Opinion on Mikuni BS (CV) Jetting

I am rebuilding my stock carbs on my 1980 GS 550E. I heard it will run better if I re-jet it to the specifications of the Canadian Version.

I would be interested in knowing how you all feel about this.

    Thanks

I don't know about Canadian specs but if it has a pipe , or after market air filters[pods] you will have to rejet it anyway to make it run right. Although even stock they do benefit from going up one jet size as the factory sent them out on the lean side.

You might be talking about the fact that Canadian carbs have adjustable needles. At least my BS34's do, not sure about 550's though.

Where do I go to get new jets? And what jet do I change?
