    '79 GS850 VM carb question

So I thought that the screws on the bottom of the carbs, not covered by the bowls, were the pilot screws, but after checking all the documentation available here, specifically page 3 of this document, it would seem that is the pilot fuel screw and the pilot air screw is on top of the carbs.

I can't seem to find anything on what impact the bottom screw has or mixture and what is the factory default, and which may makes it richer.

I can't even find it on mikuni's pdf

    Thanks for your time!

Rob, if you screw the fuel screw in the mixture weakens and out it richens.

You're not meant to play with those screws - the government will come round and arrest you for polluting the atmosphere and poisoning polar bears if you do. But if by chance your screwdriver should fall in to the slot then about 3/4 of a turn out from lightly seated is standard.

the diagram in your link is correct. the fuel pilot screw is on the bottom of the carb, at the front and the air pilot screw is up top, on the side
