    1985 GS300L Leaking Carb

    Hi,

Motorcycles are pretty much all new to me. I bought a 1985 GS300L a week ago, and the left carb is leaking gas. It's not leaking a lot, is more like seeping thru until it begins to collect a drip. It appears to me as if the gasket seal on the carb itself is leaking, but it's hard to tell exactly where the leak is coming from. What could it be? What could I try to fix it? Finally, I'm not too familiar with this "key" on the side of the gas tank that has four settings FUEL, PRI, ON, and RES. I'm more familiar with the ON & OFF one. How should I be using this one properly? THANK YOU SO MUCH to anyone that can help me out on this new journey of mine.

My guess is time to clean the carbs, probably have a leaky needlevalve.
Run the bike on on and reserve, pri. is to fill the carb bowls after they have been emptied or have sat for a long time. Do not leave the valve on pri.

Another cause could be the gas valve not turning off and is leaking.

Check Basscliffs web site for all the good info.
