needle clip position in 79 gs1000l?

I removed the broken idle screw tips... all 4 of 'em.
    got new parts.
got the day off to play with it !
and find that the main needles have 5 grooves in them, looks like stock needles have only one.
so I guess it's a k+l kit already in there?
What position should the clip be in?
the bike is all stock, including airbox and original exhaust.
new orings all around, including intake boots. ( from Mr Barr)

The stock one are the ones with the 5 grooves..The clip is on the center one for the stock configured bikes.

Needles should say 5DL36 ( if I recall correctly ) and have the interlaced boxes that are the Mikuni symbol. After market ones wont have the Mikuni symbol or their 5DL36 numbering.

Should be a double box looking symbol like this if they are true original Mikuni parts
