    shimming vm26 needles?

Is it possible to shim the needles a half position on the vm carbs that dont have the spring mounted needles? Mine use the style of slides where there is just a recess that looks deep enough for the e clip, vs the more common style that have a spring in a deep well that the clip sits on top of where the spring would just compress more if you shimmed the needle.

You've got several grooves to choose from and yes you can shim under the E clip. Not much but theres a little wiggle room there. I think I saw shimming washers at Sirius Consolidated. I will check and if I find them I will post a link.

Cant say for sure if youll get a full half notch worth though.

    Thanks Ghostman666 for the correction...LOL.

Yes, they usually are .020" thick, which equates to half a clip position. Available from Z1 and a few hardware outlets. I managed to find some .016" spacers for my 850 VM's.
