Sourcing Mikuni BS34SS Parts

This is proving to be harder than I expected. For whatever reason one of my slides is missing several pieces; I believe they're parts 3 through 8 on the fiche here:



Here's the pictures of my two slides. As you can see, one is missing the plastic needle and c-clip. According to the fische there's a washer spacer and a spring under there too. I currently don't have the necessary tool to disassemble my other slide to confirm.

My bike was running ok-ish like this for the few months that I've owned it but with a crack in the airbox and leak in the carb boots I don't think there's any way to tell what was causing what issues I've been having.

So, I'm trying to find these parts but it's proving to be difficult. I think I've found the clip (http://www.heidentuning.com/p/28/242...de-needle-clip) but it's from the Netherlands and the website states they're for the B34 and not specifically the B34SS.

Anyone know a good place to find these? The local dealership wasn't too helpful, should have known given the reviews: https://plus.google.com/108733474732...gl=CA&hl=en-CA Yikes.

Well, that was easier than I expected.

I can't pull the needle out of the other slide but, according to the manual, it's 5D69-4:


(The E-22 is Germany. Since I'm in Canada I'll assume I'm in the "others" category.)

Alright, it just got more confusing...

Today I purchased the right pliers to open up the c-clip and here's what I found:



Both needle jets are the same, along with the spring, washer, spacer and E-ring. What's different is how each needle jet is contained. the one on the right uses a stopper plate with a screw whereas the one on the right uses a c-clip combined with a plastic needle up into the diaphragm. From the looks of the schematic I posted above it's the setup is on the right that's shown. So, maybe I'm fine with this? But what's going on here, anyone know the purpose of this plastic needle?

And I'm surprised that I didn't notice it earlier, but take a look at the slide diaphragms in my first post. The interiors are in fact different. The one using the c-clip is a large diameter throughout and tapers deep inside to accommodate the c-clip. The other is wide at the opening but tapers immediately. The c-clip wouldn't work in the other one and vice-a-versa.

Now, the whole direction of this has changed. I have two functional slide diaphragms but internally on the vacuum sider they're operationally different. What say you?
