    bst34ss carbs

Recently found a guy selling his carbs off of his '88 GSX1100F for cheap, which to my understanding are the bst34ss carbs. I know the 36's are common swaps on gs1100's, but what about these?

They will fit but you will need a DJ kit, pods and some adjustments of the float to work on GS models.
I would look them over before buying them. The slides hammer the slide guides and wallow out the emulsion tubes and ruins the jet needle. Even with a DJ kit which includes new emulsion tubes if the guides are hammered it won't be long until you ruin the new parts.
1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

I figured I'd need different jets. Should I treat the jetting configuration like the stock gs1100 carbs with pods? I'll also examine the guides.

Use the DJ kit for the BST carbs.
Use the smaller main jet for the stage three and set the needle as suggested.
Set the float as far as you can or with the angled bowls or you will just leak gas into the engine.
Check out the pics of worn guides
