GS450 petcock alternative

I've tried this on a few bikes, works great on my GN400 so now am doing it to my 81 GS450 too.
I hate the vacuum operated petcock on the GS. So, for just over $30, I replace the petcock with a Pingel adaptor plate that's threaded for a 3/8th" petcock and I screw in a Sifton petcock (Pingel copy at a 1/3rd the price and works great). The Sifton costs me $35 or so including shipping. You can find other 3/8th" petcocks on ebay for $15 to $20 if you like a little more traditional looking petcock. Simple on/off/reserve, looks good, works great.

I love my vacuum petcock- I test it in the spring, prime for spring startup,move to "ON" and leave it there for 7 months; no need to wake up wondering if I shut it off!
