    Exhaust Fittment Question -- gs1000's

Does anyone know whether an aftermarket pipe for a 1983 GS1000G will fit properly on a 1979 gs1000e?

I am not worried about moving/making a clamp or brace, but want to know if it fits the head and would fit close to the frame as it is supposed to.

There will be no problems as the head and cylinders are the same

        I've never heard of a 1983 GS1000G. I thought that the 1100G replaced the 1000G in 1982.
