    Question about exhaust

I am getting ready to build the exhaust for a gs750. The stock is cut up pretty bad it has pods on it. I was wondering if the crossover between 2 and 3 was necessary or can I do without it

It's only there on stock pipes, none of the aftermarket ones.

What's it for? Nobody knows for sure, but my guess is to change the sound a bit.

I have removed the crossover on a couple of 850s with no change in power or behavior. The only change noted was the sound.

Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking it was for sound
