    Center fuel filler cap

I really like the look of the gas filler being in the center of the tank as the pain scheme looks better. Is a Wes Cooley tank the only one with this feature?

Would it be a direct swap onto my '80 850 if I could find one?

No, the "Wes Cooley" tank is not the only one with the centered fuel cap.

Many (most?) of the tanks before '80 had centered caps, they even had panels that folded over them to hide them.

It will NOT be a direct replacement, learn to live with your off-center cap.

      Tanks

So, the centered cap is specific to the wes cooley model in the 1980 models? That begs a different question. Is the 1000 tank a bolt on to the 850? I have seen a bike locally with this swap but didn't know if it was direct bolt on.

        1150 also has centered filler.

I think all of the older chain drive bikes do. The side ones are better, you can fill the tank on the sidestand and get it full.

Well, THAT is useful info to know!
Thanks. My other bikes are centered, but I had never given capacity a thought in this equation.
