    Carb Jetting List

Ok, I'm starting a new thread that is solely for listing your carb jetting/settings for your modded out GS. If everyone can do their best to follow a specific format it will help future GS racer wannabe's find a good starting point. So the format is

    Model of your bike
    Engine and any mods done
    Type of exhaust
    Type of airbox/pods
    Type of carbs
    Carb settings
    Elevation
How the bike runs with this setup

        I agree with you 100%.

And I think my Suzi's settings would be a useful contribution to this database, considering that she was jetted on a dyno, and runs perfect.

My tuner said he would give me the info, but reminded me that I paid hundreds of dollars for it, and asked if I just wanted to divulge it for free.

I was a little taken aback, but told him that most of the members here were from the Midwest, or otherwise out of contention to be customers of his. He told me that all bikes are different, and again asked if I wanted to give away info that I paid so much for.

Bottom line: I don't have the figures yet, but I'm working on it. And the minute I get them, I'll pass them on.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

            1978 GS550E
Stock engine, 81gs750 signal generator coils and ignitor
            Stock exhaust
            emgo pods
VM22 Mikunis needles adjusted one notch up
stock jets except mains, bumped to 105(still tuning) fuel screws at 1 turn, air screws at 1.25 turns (also still tuning)
NE Ohio elevation? will check and edit
Just started tuning yesterday, pulls damn hard above 2k, VERY slight stumble taking off, feels like it runs out of legs above 7500

            Hope this helps someone else.

              1981 gs650

              modified air box and filter

              baffles drill in exhaust

pilot 45 (stock 42.5) (May go to 47.5) see below

main jet 112.5 (stock 110) May go 115

screws 2.5 turns out, rich at idle trying to cover very slight low rpm low throttle stutter, pilot jet should fix it

needles shimmed to lower needles, stock jets too lean above 8k, but with larger jets, too rich at mid throttle

              runs really well

currently looking for a newer katana 600 or 750 to swap suspension and motor

Go up on the main until full throttle high rpm clears up. Then go larger until it sputters again, then start lowering the needle by putting washers on top of the needle

no secrets with a st.3 jet kit.
                      a little smoke blowing IMO.
not by you Rob but by the person acting like this info is top secret.
