I need to know if exhaust off a 1980 gs 1000E is compatible with my '79 1000E. I figure it probably is but am looking for confirmation.

When in doubt go to the parts fishe and check part numbers. If you do that for the exhaust in question you will find the parts numbers are the same between the '79 and '80 exhaust parts. http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htmEd
