Can Seafoam cause a hanging idle?

Tried some Seafoam (a lot of it actually) in an attempt to resolve a garage rot issue with the carbs on my 1000S, but gave up and pulled them for a quick spritz out. After the work the pilot screws need about one full turn more open than I remember; the idle was hanging at 2.5 turns and didn't settle down until 3+. Has anyone ever experienced similar issues after slamming some Seafoam in the tank? Just wondering.

    Seafoam still in the tank?

I guess as like too much Oil with 2 Strokes the addition of a lot of seafoam could make it run lean.

        Hi Ness,

I use Seafoam and Startron regularly. I have put as much as 1/2 bottle of Seafoam into as little as 2-3 gallons. Never had an issue. I do exactly what you are talking about, (heavy Seafoam dose), at the beginning and end of each season for no other reason than it makes me think I'm cleaning things out the easy way.

I have advised other people to use this combo who's equipment I was working on every spring to clean the carbs out. Since they have taken my advise, I haven't worked on any of it, not one. Seems to work for us.

        Hope it helps.....
