Carb cleaning 83 GS850G
Just picked the bike up tonight, it has been sitting for a decade at least, it needs the carbs gone through badly. I never looked under the tank to see what was involved, how many hoses come off of the tank just so I know? and when I dig into the carbs, besides the vaccum diaphragms, what else should I check out? thanks guys for any info!Tags: None -
Two hoses on the tank(vacuum and fuel) and two bullet electrical connectors.
As for the carb rebuild:
and
You might want to look at adjusting the valves as well:

Skunky
I have the 82 GS 850 G don't be afraid to take everything off and go through the carbs it's very straight forward and easy to do. I would buy a new O-Ring Kit the rest should be easily cleaned just follow the directions in the garage section GS resources. While the carbs are off you should probably do a valve adjustment with everything apart make sure the rubbers on both sides of the carbs are soft and won't allow air leaks. good luckComment
