    Carb piece I cant identify

Can't get to my main computer for the night and this is a piece in the carb rebuild kit. 1981 GS 850. Kit is for 80- 83. Something different in an 83?

That looks like the plug that is pressed over the enrichment screw. Chuck it, you won't need it.

+1. Kinda interesting. I've never seen one that hasn't been drilled out...

Better yet, chuck the rebuild kits. Check the Newbie Mistakes thread and carb rebuild tutorials linked in my signature...

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Previous OP must have had Pods and made some self engineered parts. Like drilling out the air jets. I wanted to get as close as I could to stock so I bought a rebuild kit from Z-1. The mains were 122.5 and that was the reason I thought there were pods on the bike at one time. I put a new air box on, o rings from Ray, complete tear down dip, rinse, blow out. I have the tutorial just couldn't get to it last night. I just hadn't seen a part that looked like that before. Thanks for the comments!!!
