Carb rebuild and tune help

Hey guys. I am rebuilding the carbs on My 81 gs450. I think they are mikuni bs32 carbs but I'm not sure. Is a bs carb and a cv carb the same? I am taking them completely apart, cleaning them and replacing l gaskets/rubber. I have 2 sets of the same carberators, so I'm taking them both apart, and picking and choosing the best looking parts to build a carb set. I want my carberators to work near perfect, are there some things that I should replace with brand new parts(jets... Ect.). What's the best way to get these carbs spotless(carb spray,dip, ultrasonic, someone told me lemon juice?). I bought a kit from cycle orings, the old seals for the needles seat are a paper gasket, the new ones are a rubber oring. When I put the oring on, it holds the needle seat up slightly higher, is that bad? Or can I just a just my floats to accommodate. When I'm putting my carbs back together, what do I need to pay attention to and how do I find the specs to how far I screw in all my jets and mixture screw?

Also I noticed that my the needles from my slides don't sit right the middle of the jet, is that bad or normal?

In your first thread here someone linked Basscliff's website. Please go back to that link and look through all the various information about how to rebuild your carbs. There is a specific GS450 carb rebuild tutorial. Go find that one and also look through the tutorial linked in my signature (and also on Cliff's site). Between those two documents you should have all the info you need on how to rebuild your carbs. Also check the Newbie Mistakes thread linked in my signature so you can be aware of various other things you should look out for.

Cycleorings.com sells a kit specific to the 450 too. That's the one you want.

I believe you have 34mm carbs, not 32. Full model designation would be Mikuni BS34SS.

Many different manufacturers made "CV" carbs. That is a type of carb, the letters stand for Constant-Velocity, a property acheived by moving the slide to provide what is essentially a variable venturi. The "BS" is just part of the model designation that Mikuni used for one of their CV-type carbs.
