What are the dimensions of part number six in this diaphragm assembly? Also is it really necessary?

Guessing it's for your 550, so it would be a kilometer, not a mile, but what part is it? Where does it go?

Its a plastic washer that fits onto the piston holder according to the manual, but I can't find it on any other parts list, and it didn't come with my bike. Do I need it?Comment

The part that holds my pistons is called a "wrist pin", and it's sure NOT plastic.
I think I know what you are talking about, but I sure didn't get it from your descriptions.
I have not owned a bike (or worked on one) that used a similar part since 1983, so my memory is rather fuzzy.
Can't say for sure how important that part is.

I don't know why I did this but I actually started looking through the service manual for your bike. That part comes from the carburetor diaphragms and is absolutely most necessary if you want to have working carburetors. Others can tell you better just how hard/easy it will be to put everything back together like it was supposed to.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace
