    petcock replacement 1980 gs1000e

Hi, I have a gs1000e with leverless vacuum petcock with 50mm bolt spacings, the problem - I have aftermarket clocks fitted so I do not have a fuel gauge now, what I am looking for is a vacuum petcock with 50mm bolt spacings WITH a RESERVE lever , I have heard that a gs750 petcock may be an option, but thought maybe someone has done this before and can tell me if iit's an option or not !!! thanks for reading , any help / advice would be most appreciated,
    Many thanks
    Steve

All the 50mm bolt spacing taps are the same design. Your only option is to use something like a Pingel.

The leverless petcock is low profile to avoid hitting the carbs. Not sure anything else would fit.

Order a new one from Suzuki and be done with it. I wouldn't get aftermarket even though they look similar and are cheaper. That model petcock is quite fragile, the check valve in the back cover in particular. I bought an aftermarket one and it never worked right. Get the Suzuki version and you will have a better chance at success. Oh, and when the check valve in the cover fails the prime won't work anymore. AND, in order to make Prime work you have to crank the engine some to get it to engage.

The title wasn't specific enough - 1980 gs1000e !! So I thought I would highlight what I'm after, and it worked as I got a reply about a pingel which is good news for me !

I'd get a Pingel plate with an offset port with a matching petcock.
I've used these for years with no problem.
Plug the "2 vacuum port and forget about it.
