i had a set of 36 side pulls once.
the most these carbs used to need was the bowl o-ring and maybe the drain o-rings unless they had plastic slides like my side pulls did...mikuni was replacing them free of charge for billet slides but...you had to ship them the carbs and they did the install and shipped them back for free....zero cost!
some kinda of lawsuit where a guy installed a set from orient i believe and fugged them up.
throttle stuck...idiot got hurt and that ended the sale of the billet slides at least in the 90's.

Thank You, Yes my float bowl O'Rings weren't good. One was broken and had been Orange siliconed (yuch) I am thinking they will work well on a near stock street bike engine. The price was right. Thanks Guys Mike

Early so you wrote the Plastic slides are Junk? Thats what mine have and that's why I got them for free, They seem to movere well no binding . I imagine the dual throttle cable is a MUST with these. I always had smoothbores and never had any issues with them. Thanks Mike

Mike, the issue with the plastic slides is nitrous backfires blowing them out.

if a person was in the states and mikuni still offered the free parts/repair....i'd go for it.
yes nitrous back fires would split the plastic slides and destroy the needles as well.
one other thing was the mixture needles when ran down all the way(more than lightly) would break the tips off.
              the brass is soft!
