1978 GS 1000 exhaust

Will a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 exhaust off of a 1983 gs 1100 fit a 1978 gs 1000?

I tried to find this information on V&H but had no luck. I did do an eBay search on their new pro pipe and it seems to list the same part number for an 83 1100 and the 78 1000.

However, I would hold on to hear from someone who knows the answer for sure.
