Ive done maybe 4 or 5 sets of carb manifold and some airbox boots with this one bottle. Dump it back in after removing the parts and reuse many times. Wear some rubber or plastic gloves if your getting parts out with your finger..they will smell of wintergreen for a few days.

You can cut the wintergreen oil with a thinner like alcohol or xylene to bulk it up. Can't remember the exact procedure but just google something like wintergreen rubber threatment. The Honda guys have used it lots.

The mixture I used was 70% wintergreen to 30% xylene.

I've used 3 parts xylene to 1 part wintergreen with excellent results. I keep it in a wide mouth glass jar, like a salsa jar, and have re-used it many times. I can only get one air box boot in there at a time and let them soak a couple of days for the really bad ones. So far I've done 6 boots, numerous vacuum hoses and a couple of carb mount boots. Use rubber gloves and I hope you like the wintergreen smell in your garage. It will linger for a week or two after you use this stuff. You boots will swell to about 1.5 times their normal size but when the xylene evaporates they shrink back to original size. End up like new parts. My friend bought a quart of wintergreen online for about $30 but I don't know where he bought it. I think Amazon. He used about 4 oz and I used 3 oz so we have plenty left.

I need to correct this. It is 30% wintergreen oil to 70% xylene. I agee totally with jdvorchak, re-use it many times over.

I was also mistaken about the container. I use one of my wife's Mason Jars for holding it and soaking. Every time I use it I pour an ounce or two, of Xylene, into the mixture to bring the level up. Since it still smells like Wintergreen and what evaporates is the Xylene I figure I'll do this a couple more times then add an ounce of wintergreen. It's pretty black now but seems to still work.

I don't think that smell will leave my garage until spring and I can leave the doors and windows open... Smells like a spearmint chewing gum factory in there.....

Maybe I should do this outside... Is the motorcycle going to smell like that if it has eight freshly wintergreened boots? I could see with a bunch of bikes smelling like that I may have a slight problem.

Your boots will smell minty fresh for a loooong time. Not overwhelming though.
