I recently just rebuilt my top end haven't even got the chance to ride it yet.... I've done everything I can think of up to this point bench synced all carbs just a sec ago goin to put em on the bike and try to warm it up so I can vacuum sync them... but that is even if I can

 having issues with carbsAfter cleaning my carbs out I'm having backfiring out of my #2 and #3 carbs... also my father in law over filled my bike with oil and now it's smoking like crazy... I dropped out the oil and and fired it up but now I can't get it to idle without backfires and when I tap the throttle it cuts out and dies... I'm kinda baffled..

 Did you follow the carb rebuild tutorial and fully tear down the carbs? Soak the carb bodies and pieces in carb dip? Replace all the O-rings? Verify all the passages and jets are open as described in the carb rebuild tutorial?
 
 Did you purchase real K&N or Ape pods? Install a Dynojet or Sigma jet kit to go along with the pods?
 
 On the ignition side, did you check resistance on the plug caps? Snip off a small piece of the ignition wire and screw the caps back onto the wires assuring good contact?Ed

 No I haven't done a full tear down because it ran fine before the rebuild. This is what I have done and new parts
 Pods modify
 Ricks rectifier and stator
 Top end rebuild
 Emgo coils 4 ohm
 New oil filter
 2In1 Mac turnouts
 Ngk plugs and caps
 New head gasket valve cover exhaust gaskets vesrah
 Viton valve stem seals
 Grinder seats valves and head face
 So I guess the carb rebuild is next I have new o rings on intake boots already but my thing is I had them running and synced before the rebuild

 Also I made sure all passages were open with compressed air when I took the carbs apart but like I said I haven't taken them apart down to individual carbs

 Rejetting for pods involves more than just changing the main jets. A Dynojet kit is highly recommended. Also, make sure the pilot jets are open, the choke circuits are open, etc...Ed

 My experience with stuff already on the bike is that until everything is something you put (or had put) there with proper care, it ain't right. This goes especially for carbs when the flow in/out is not stock. That said, a nice air leak can give you a lean condition.

 There is a guide on BassCliff's site that shows how to rebuild the carbs, it is also linked in Nessism's post (#8). The only parts that are usually needed are bowl gaskets and an o-ring kit from cycleorings.com. While ordering your carb o-rings, be sure to get the ones for your intake boots, too. Splurge, get the stainless bolts that hold the intake boots on. All together, you will spend about the same as ONE "rebuild kit".I ride many bikes.
 Some are even Suzukis. :D

 Ok I've read over the carb rebuild and I am goin to need the o ring kit also the dyna stage three... better pods as well
