Gsx 1100 ex 1981 carb swapHi peeps , is there a modern set of carbs that will fit ? i'm looking for a cheaper option than having the old bs 34s rebuilt. Standard except for 4 into 1. Many thanks.Tags: None

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Perhaps the carbs don't need rebuilding. The problem is poor tickover, slowing down on a closed throttle makes it run very lumpy at low revs but opening throttle very slightly it runs smoothly, turning the mixture screws has no effect on the bad running at low revs. Running slightly rich perhaps ? Apart from poor slow speed running , it runs fine, with no other problems. Any ideas what the problem might be folks ? Thanks Pete.

All you should need is an O-ring set from here.Originally posted by slideplayer View PostCould do, but where can you get all the bits? Any special tools needed ?

As for special tools, the only special tools needed are some good fitting screw drivers to remove the jets. If you look at the tutorial it will explain what is needed. Beyond that, you may need a propane torch and some PB Blaster. If the idle mixture screw is still covered then you'll need to drill and extract the plug that covers it. If you have questions then just ask and you'll get answers. Many on here have rebuilt carbs. Some many times. Some here even offer a rebuild service for a reasonable price. Just ask if you need it.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
