    Airbox boots

The airbox boots on my gs don't sit right allowing an air leak. I have tried and they just won't seat right. Would this cause it to run lean? Po thought there was carb leak. thought about putting rtv on it to seal it, is that a bad idea.

They can be replaced. I bought new ones. They are important and used to straighten airflow into the carbs. RTV turns to jelly in the presence of gasoline.
