Also I remember a few years seeing a wacky x pipe 4 into 1 into 2 setup on ebay that looked cool but seemed a little questionable. Anyone know the deal with these?

Best 4 into 1 Exhaust Options for GS750
Well I somehow managed to blow out the flange on my Kerker 4 into 1 while riding today. Sounded like a popcorn machine going back to my garage. I am now looking for a replacement/upgrade. Right now I am leaning towards a Delkelvic or Vance and Hines. Not too impressed with Mac systems other than the cheaper price. I would like to run my current muffler which is a Lossa Engineering 12 inch shorty reverse cone off the new header. I think I would prefer stainless over chrome or powder coating. Any Delkevic or Vance and Hines owners out there with any issues? Pros/Cons? Are there other options I should consider?

I have had both. I would never go back to Vance and Hines. The build quality is night and day. Stainless Steel is entirely different from anything I have had before. It likes to turn gold under heat, but it looks fine. I lost several battles with mine and plastic grocery bags blowing in the wind that burnt on the pipes. 800 wet dry sandpaper wet with WD40 takes the plastic off. 1500 and 2000 grit brings the shine back. Never dull and a final polish with Blue Magic makes them look like brand new. -

How is assembly and fitment with the Delkevic? I see it comes in pieces and is fastened with springs. Looks pretty straight forward but most things do.Comment

Older Vance and Hines are good. Newer ones seem to suffer some from build quality. If you like the chrome look then that's your best bet. If you like the stainless steel look then the Delkevic's are top notch. Made in China but still seem to be decent build quality so far. There have been some reported leaks at the slip joints though.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Also if possible I would like to keep the up swept look I currently have going on. As seen hiding behind this snake.Comment

I can't say on the quality, but the ideas behind it are complete bullsh!t. It will work if all you want is an exhaust system to get the burned gases behind you, but is not a performance pipe. Neither is the Delkevic, for that matter (based on the numbers I was given for tubes sizes, etc.), but it is current production, decent quality, reasonably priced and looks good. If you don't care about making max power the Delkevic is a decent choice.

When the V&H pipes were developed they actually took the time to try different diameter tubes and lengths to get the most power. They came with jetting instructions and were easy to install. I have always used them and had good luck with them. DarComment

If you're not planning to do internal work on the engine to maximize power, you have nothing to lose with the Delkevic pipes, and they are quality.
You can also opt for other things, like V&H or even MAC."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Delkevic look like old Dunstall exhaust, at least the headers and mid pipe.
