    Hard bags clearance from muffler

I'm considering a Delkevic for my 1100G. I figure the highest part of the muffler will be almost touching my Krauser hard bags. The muffler will angle downward pretty quickly so that there will be pretty good clearance except for the highest couple of inches at the end of the muffler (rear.) Does that sound like it would be acceptable?

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.

I have mine 1.5 to 2 inches above the muffler. There's some discussion in this thread that may be helpful.

Too bad photobucket pics dont show up though.

Thanks, that thread helped. I had to do some fabbing to get my Krauser bags mounted and I really like them. Having to lose or change them would be a deal-breaker but I'm thinking I will maybe have about an inch clearance, the more I look at it. I could also extend the muffler outlet like Steve did and put some kind of heat-shield on the bottom of the right hardbag.

        Awesome!

Just fyi, when I got my bags they had small melded spots on the bottom from previous heat exposure. I never notice it getting worse since I installed them, or anything inside getting hot though.

Do post up some pics of yours when you're done so we can see them installed.
