Oxidation in CarbI tore down the carbs on my GS450L last weekend and soaked them, but there's a lot of oxidation inside - lots of damage to the float pin arms in one of them, it's barely able to hold the pin up. I'm a newb, just wondering if these are salvageable or should I just go ahead and get some units in better condition. I've been scraping and scrubbing all weekend but these things aren't looking much better than before I dipped them.

Get some Eagle One Mag Wheel cleaner from Orielleys. Look at the label and be sure it says "etching" on it. Spray it in and wait like 4 or 5 minutes and then scrub with an old toothbrush. Rinse in water and spot treat as needed. If all is good dry with the compressor air nozzle.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Thanks for the advice guys, since I only paid $50 for this bike I went ahead and found a decent looking (from the pics) set of carbs on ebay from an 81 GS450. I'll let yall know what happens.
