It?s black chrome so unless there is someone doing it in secret in some remote corner of the earth, sad to say it?s not repairable. There are ceramic coatings but they do not shine like black chrome. I?d love to be corrected on this but I won?t hold my breath.

Thanks. I just did a little looking around. Looks like it is very costly, (three times that of regular chrome plating), and produces lots of hazardous waste. I didn't search long enough to know whether or not someone does it. Maybe China does it? They seem to have little regard for the environment, so I've heard.

Not to mention the fact that most chrome shops won't do used exhaust systems for risk of polluting their dipping baths with carbon crud.

I tried on mine. The more you rub the less black and the more chrome it is. Naval Jelly will get the rust, a thin coat of black paint will do wonders from the manifold back and it hasn't burned off. THis is the best I could do:

I've used this stuff before and it looks great. I sandblasted the exhaust and sprayed it on. I'm not sure if you'll get an exact match, but for the price it can't be beat. The small bottle is plenty for an exhaust.
