Would MAP improve my heat range? I'm not too familiar with the differences temp-wise.Originally posted by Nessism View PostIf that propane torch is one of those bottle jobbies with a screw on head it won't get hot enough to braze with other than maybe for thin wall sheet metal using silver.
Ceramic coating sounds a bit expensive for how pitted these are. I'm going to pretty them up and seal them to get as much time out of them as I can until I can manage a fresh set. Though I am curious: are there any aftermarket 4 into 2 headers available? I enjoy the look amd sound of a 4 into 1 but for this bike I really want the symetry.

I see how it works now. I'm wondering how the double wall will effect mig welding the holes shut... Also, pipes 2+3 are welded onto the crossover piece, not thinking it was from the factory. This might make for an ass-pain deleting it, but we'll see. I might just patch the holes, there are less on that than there are at the base of the mufflers!Originally posted by Steve View PostWell, not sure which will show it better, so here is the end of the pipe that fits into the "Y", with and without flash:

This is on a set of '79 850 pipes that will be on my wife's bike in a few days.
