 It's a little bit tight on the 550, much easier on the larger bikes.
 
 I use the linkage on one of the other carbs to hold everything open, then wiggle the end of the cable into place.
 After the end is in place, THEN pull the cable sheath into place in its holder above the carbs.

 Really struggled so filed a small amount off the ball on end of cable and nearly went in I'll go back at it again.I'm not 1 for giving up easily.Thought the cable on my 82 850 gl was much easier as you said Steve on the larger bikes.I guess when 550 is up and running I'll look for the third gs for my collection mabey a katana as I've never had 1Last edited by angus; 03-20-2019, 06:23 AM.1983 GS 650 gl
