Exhaust replacement question
I'm curious what kind of exhaust you all would recommend for my stock engine 1980 GS-1000G? Would I have to re-Jet the carbs, if so how hard is this to do? I wouldn't mind having a little more performance if possible, but not a huge deal if not, at 19K miles, she still runs pretty darn good for her old age. lolTags: None -
A vote for Delkevic from me. I'm quite happy with the quality of the material and workmanship.
Most of the aftermarket exhaust suppliers make a sales point of not requiring re-jetting.Dave

A lot of times the 4-into-1's come with instructions to remove the air box lid, nothing more complicated than that.
I've gotten several good years from a Vance & Hines "Street Megaphone." The volume can be adjusted by adding or removing fiberglass padding. And the headers are designed for convenient oil & filter changes.
The short overall length, compared to the old Kerkers, makes for much simpler rear wheel removal.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
