Do they even exist? If the answer is no, can anyone advise what the most accepted alternative is? As in anybody make a repro pipe? Really appreciate any help here...

Unobtanium?Hi all, just joined the forum. Recently purchased a 1980 GS1000S that has kinda been in the family for many years. I would like to find a factory OEM complete exhaust for it. Understood that I'm looking for a very rare beast. No interest in one that's "kinda nice".. Willing to pay for that as new, perfect etc etc set.

 Welcome to the site, Farkle.
There are quite a few B.C. members here. One of them is keeping a registry of the S bikes.

Yes to the S exhaust being unobtanium. No reproduction exhausts.
The S owners will be along but if i remember correctly some of them are using GS1000L systems. They are also difficult to find.

How about a pic or seven of your bike.2@ \'78 GS1000

Steve is correct. It's the 1979 chain drive 1000L system that's closest to the real deal 1000S system.Ed
