I'm trying to remove the mixture screws, as I've taken this carburetor apart 4 times, and they're the one thing I couldn't touch... because they were stuck. Steve suggested getting a rotary tool and cutting into the sleeves the screws go in to make a new slot. I've tried that on one, and it still won't turn. Things I've found useful are heat, penetrating oil, a screwdriver that fits exactly, and patience. I've taken a fortnight to get one of these out before. Soak, heat, soak, twist maybe one-eighth of a turn, work back and forth, soak again, leave overnight........ You get the picture.
Sorry I can't give you a better answer, but IMO it's better to take it slowly than mangle the head of the screw. -
